The Urban Walks team put their best foot forward for the ‘New Product Workshop’ held by Destination NSW in the aptly named ‘Magnificent Ballroom’ at the Sofitel Hotel Darling Harbour on June 9th.

Designed as an opportunity to present new, ‘export-ready’ products to potential buyers from Inbound Tour Operators (ITOs) and Online Travel Agent (OTAs), develop trade relationships and generate new business, the all-day event featured 25 NSW-based tourism operators.

The invitation-only workshop proved the ideal stage for Urban Walks to showcase its unique suite of walks to a range of buyers that work across Western and Eastern markets as well as key New Zealand wholesale buyers.

The format of an appointment-based workshop required sellers to present to buyer groups in a very focused manner throughout the action-packed day whilst canapés and drinks in the stunning Champagne Bar in the evening made networking a pleasure.

Andrea Cameron, partner at Urban Walks said, “It was an intense day with the bell ringing at 12 minute intervals to usher in the next buyer to our table. But it was a very productive workshop and the breadth of businesses we met and the positive feedback we received was amazing.”

The New Product Workshop is an annual event that Destination NSW delivers as part of its NSW First program to assist tourism businesses around the State to develop, promote and sell their tourism products.
